Pemeriksaan KUB

Salah satu pemeriksaan pengimejan diagnostik sinar-X yang sering dilakukan apabila anda mengalami kesakitan pada bahagian abdomen adalah KUB. 

Apa itu KUB?

KUB adalah akronim bagi Kidney Ureter Bladder, iaitu organ utama untuk sistem urinari manusia. Di dalam bidang pengimejan diagnostik, ianya dilakukan mengunakan mesin sinar x konvensional untuk menghasilkan radiograf KUB. Ianya hanya mempunyai satu projeksi, iaitu AP (pandangan hadapan) dengan pesakit pada posisi supin (baring telentang la).

Biasanya, sebelum pemeriksaan dijalankan, pesakit diminta untuk menyalin pakaian ke gaun hospital (menangalkan semua pakaian kecuali seluar dalam). Ini bertujuan untuk mengelakan kesan artifak pada radiograf. Artifak pada radiograf mampu menyebabkan radiologis yang menilai radiograf salah tafsir, mengakibatkan salah diagnosis berlaku. setelah pesakit berpakaian hospital, pesakit diminta untuk baring supin di meja pemeriksaan.

Semasa pemeriksaan, pesakit diminta untuk meletakkan tangan di sisi badan, kaki pesakit lurus dan radiografer akan menarik kaki pesakit agar garis tengah pesakit sejajar dengan garis tengah perakam imej. kemudian radiografer akan memohon untuk menyentuh bahagian sisi pesakit untuk menentukan titik pemusatan, iaitu pada persilangan mid sagital plane (garis tengah badan) dan paras krista illiak. ini untuk memastikan radiograf yang akan dihasilkan memasukan bahagian yang dikehendaki, iaitu seluruh organ urinari dengan paras bawah radiograf pada simfisis pubis. Pesakit akan diberi arahan pernafasan, dimana radiograf akan diambik semasa pernafasan ekspirasi tertahan (buang nafas habis habis)

Fakfor dedahan yang diberi biasanya bergantung dengan badan pesakit, keadaan mesin dan teknik individu, namun SID adalah kekal pada 100cm dengan kolimasi pada ASIS tanpa memotong bahagian yang diminati

Kenapa KUB dilakukan

Biasanya ianya untuk melihat kehadiran batu pada buah pinggang atau pundi kencing. sekiranya perlu, ujian IVU(intravena urografi) dilakukan untuk memastikan keadaan atau tahap keterukan penyakit

Persediaan umum

Sekiranya mengalami hematuria (kencing berdarah), anuria (susah nak kencing/tiada kencing), sakit semasa kencing. pakaila baju ringkas yang senang dibuka, agar senang melakukan pemeriksaan yang berpatutan.
